Who Can Become a Certified College Financial Consultant?

Candidates who possess one of the following professional designations or who can provide evidence of sufficient relevant education and experience deemed satisfactory by the AICCFC.

CCFC designation holders must complete a rigorous yet engaging online course that can be completed at their own pace through our innovative learning platform, which also works extremely well on mobile devices and tablets.

CCFC designation holders must sign and abide by a Service and Fiduciary Oath in order to maintain their certification and remain in good standing with the AICCFC. Each CCFC designation holder must also operate under the following principles:

Final Examination Interview

After completing the course, candidates are required to successfully pass a proctored final interview examination, which is designed to be completed in less than 45 minutes via video conference.

Frequently Asked Questions
$899. This is a one-time cost that enables you to complete the education course requirements to become a CCFC, receive CE credits, and gain access to the community forum and resource center.
The CCFC Education Course should take approximately 15-20 hours on average to complete. Applicants can move through the program at their own pace and they must complete the program within 12 months of enrollment. After 12 months, they will be charged $149 per year to maintain access to the program.
CCFC designation holders who possess one of the approved prerequisite professional designations must complete 4 hours of continuing education on an annual basis. All other CCFC designation holders must complete 15 hours of continuing education on an annual basis.
$149 / year. This annual recurring fee allows advisors to maintain their CCFC Designation and allows for continuous access to the community forum, resource center, and course content updates.
Applicants who successfully complete the CCFC Designation Program will earn 15 CE Credits that are approved by the CFP Board. The program may also qualify for CPA CPE depending on each state's guidelines and regulations.
Advisors and financial professionals who successfully complete the College and Student Loan Planning Essentials certificate program offered by the Investments & Wealth Institute and meet one of the prerequisites (professional designation, relevant education and experience, etc.), are able to pay $199 and sit for the final examination interview in order to fast track their way to becoming a CCFC.
