While candidates have 12 months to complete the program (before an automatic 12-month extension will be applied), we find that it takes between 20-40 hours of time to complete the program.
Yes, the CCFC designation program is currently approved for 15 Hours of CE by the CFP Board.
Currently, the annual renewal fee is $149 and is charged on the anniversary of each CCFC or CCFC candidate's enrollment date. For example, if you enrolled in the program on July 1, 2024 and completed the program on November 1, 2024, the $149 renewal fee would automatically be applied on July 1, 2025.

With the initial enrollment fee, candidates are provided with access to the program for 12 months. After 12 months has passed, the annual renewal fee will automatically apply and either act as a renewal for those who have completed the program or a 12-month extension for those who have still not completed. As long as the renewal fee is paid and the advisor remains in good standing with the AICCFC, continuous access to the education courses (and future updates) will always be provided.
The final interview examination is conducted via video conference with a live recording function. The candidate is tested on their knowledge and ability to respond to seven questions including four client case studies that correspond to topics from any of the five lesson modules covered in the education course. The instructor will confirm that the candidate's visual appearance matches that of the headshot that was uploaded with the initial application form for identity verification purposes. Satisfactory responses to three out of the four client case studies will result in the candidate passing the exam and he/she will have then met the requirements to use the CCFC marks publicly.
